In China, the general input voltage of the pulse power supply of the spark machine is 380V, and the frequency is 50HZ alternating current. These outputs basically need to meet the following requirements:

1. The spark machine discharge must have a certain pulse discharge energy, otherwise the workpiece metal cannot be vaporized;

2. The discharge of the spark machine must be a short-term pulse discharge, so that the heat generated by the discharge will not have time to spread to other parts, so as to effectively erode the metal and improve the formability and machining accuracy;

3. The discharge pulse wave is unidirectional in order to make full use of the polarity effect, increase the processing speed and reduce the loss of tool electrodes;

4. The adjustment range of the effective width of the main parameters of the discharge pulse waveform of the spark machine (peak current, pulse width, pulse interval, etc.) to meet the requirements of rough, medium and finishing;

5. There is a proper pulse interval time, so that the discharge medium has enough time to eliminate ionization and wash away metal particles, so as to avoid arcing and burn the workpiece.

Therefore, the quality of the power supply is directly related to the performance of the EDM machine tool, so the power supply is often one of the core secrets of the EDM machine manufacturer.
